WEEKLY UPDATE #3

Elder McDonald and Elder Rider

This week my first companion went home to fix some stuff which I respect him so much for doing so. I do miss him though, he helped me to be a much better person, and it was always a good time with him we were always laughing. So my new companion is Elder Rider and he's a little strange and it's hard to relate with him sometimes but it's all good. We get along well enough and we haven't had any problems yet.

This last Sunday during devotional we watched the video "because of him" on Lds.org and i know most of you probably have already seen it but I would recommend watching it again because this video is really simple but it is very powerful. The general message of this video is because of him all is possible.

Throughout this week has been pretty crazy my companion and I found out that the screen in our window was broken and we woke up with a crazy amount of mosquito bites. So we spent some time killing mosquitos and there's blood all over our ceiling and wall, and it's pretty gross to think that it's our blood on the wall. My companion counted 135 (I don't know if this is true), and I counted 64. But all is good there's a reason for Typhoid shots, and we went to the clinic to get some medicine. Also one of my buddies here, Elder Cromarty (he's from Canada) picked up a parrot right off the ground and I held it too it was pretty funny. Oh and I changed my money to Pesos. 

There have been a lot of storms here in the CCM. So far we've had like 4 lightning storms, and its hailed twice which is rare for México city. During one of those lightning storms there was a specific thunder boom that woke everyone here in the CCM up at around 2am. Everyone was talking about it the next day. Also yes, I was dumb enough to run out in the hail and get drilled by a few. 

We also were blessed to hear from Tad R. Callister of the 70 during our tuesday devotional. One of the things that I liked about his talk was he included the missionaries a lot and asked us questions and what our thoughts were. Also he shared that it literally says in the Bible that there are 3 degrees of glory. Which are 2 Corinthians 12:2 and 1 Corinthians 15:40-41. I encourage reading those as well.

Davis and I were on the computer at the same time, so we were able to message back and forth for a little while. He is doing great and LOVES the CCM. He sounds so good and is so happy! For those wondering--I asked if he's rolled his Rs again and he said not yet. He has trouble with the double Rs.

They're going to get a lot of steps in those shoes.
