WEEKLY UPDATE #16

August 21, 2017

"Hey everyone!! This week was really slow at the beginning and fast this weekend. At the beginning of this week Elder Serrano and I were going through a hard time finding people and having success. And it was weird cause we were doing everything we could--well, we though we were... Anyway, we prayed sooo much and we received revelation about what we were missing--which was agency. Sometimes Elder Serrano and I get super tired from walking all day and when our appointments falls through we would study instead of trying to find others. So now we go looking for people to teach instead of studying and we've already seen a huge difference. The first day we tried this we found 25 contacts in an hour which is a crazy high number. We've also received revelation that we need to include the members more and to take advantage cause we're in a ward now. So now everytime we eat at a members house we ask for references and this has helped a lot! And just yesterday we found out that our whole zone has been struggling. It was good to find that it's not just us. We obviously plan on continuing what we're doing. Today we went to the center of the city with our zone and we played ping pong and billiards in the institute building there. It was super fun!! Afterwards we went to eat in this super cool place. It was super good food and it was really cheap!! Anyways love all you guys!! Until next week!!"

He expressed his love for his mission and the people in his email to his Dad. He says he wants to return after his mission and continue the work. Haha

In my email he says, "Yes, we have air conditioning and actually we have one of the nicest houses in the field. Yes I'm grateful too, it's super hot here. And yes I got a really bad sunburn that peeled but it's cause I forgot on a day I was outside all day. I've learned my lesson. Yes, I'm starting to tan just a bit." I asked him about his soccer game from the week before and he said they played "our zone verses the zone next to ours. Ours lost but it was close!" I gave him some tips for saving time in sending emails since he always seems to run out of time. Not sure if he'll use them, but maybe emails just improve with time.
