"Hey everyone!!

This week has been super great!! My new comp is super cool and really funny! We joke around a lot here in Mexico. It helps time go by faster when you have fun doing what you're doing! My Spanish has gotten a lot better being with someone who doesn't know English. I basically forced to speak in Spanish all the time, which is good for me. Reading all these emails in English was a little hard and typing this email right now is a little hard too hahaha. I feel really slow. Maybe by the end of my mission ill forget all of my English... I'm just kidding I won't.... I don't know we'll see. Anyways my comp told me he's trying to learn English so this week I've been teaching him English with my Spanish. It has been decent his pronunciation is bad and it's funny cause I'll tell him a word one syllabel (i forget how to spell that) at a time and he completely messes it up hahaha. Now I know how I was when I first started here in Chihuahua trying to speak Spanish. If I do ever get to train I really hope I get someone who already knows Spanish, to save me from the pains of training Gringos (white boys).

Last Friday was Mexican Independence Day which I thought the ward was gonna have a huge party or that some member was gonna invite us to theirs. But that didn't happen, we returned home at 6 (presidents orders) and we ate burgers, root beer floats, and Jarritos. Also I called my trainer cause it was his birthday, that was fun. Ohh and yesterday we saw a tarantula in the wild!! My comp didn't see it and almost stepped on it, they're kind of fast too. Anyways hope you enjoy the pictures!! BYE LOVE YOU GUYS"

From his email to his Dad: "Everything is great!! We have a lot of service opportunities one of the best ways to get into peoples house is to serve them first hahaha. This week was pretty easy I would say."

In response to his Dad's email talking about obedience, he said, "Here on the mission there's a lot more standards and its obvious why because there's a huge difference when you teach with the spirit than without it."

I seriously can't imagine running into a tarantula!!!! Spiders are my fear! Yikes!!!!!!

From his email to me: I asked him if he's still being called Elder McAwesome and he said, "Not as much give me more time. I'm known more as Mickey D now hahaha!" Davis is so funny!

"Its going great with my new comp! It's gone well. I think i can tell people I know Spanish cause I understand it enough to where if i don't know a word my comp can explain it to me using Spanish and I'll get it. Also I just lack practice and I'm not completely comfortable yet. He wants to learn English so right now I'm using my Spanish to help him learn."

I told him about a non-member expressing concern with the young age of missionaries and Davis said, "The young age makes it easier to talk to people here actually. It catches peoples interest, they're always like it's so nice seeing someone your age preaching instead of smoking and drinking. It kind of softens their hearts a little haha."

I shared with him a missionary experience I had with a co-worker and he told me I did a great job explaining things and that I should introduce her to the missionaries. Always a missionary!
