WEEKLY UPDATE #43

March 5, 2018
"Hey everyone!!
This week was super awesome!! Especially a Family Home Evening we did with a family! Its a part family investigator, meaning our investigators wife is a member. This investigator is a "dry member" meaning hes not baptized, and he already has a bunch of time with the missionaries. Anyways we shared a message about resisting temptation and all of a sudden he asked "Elders what do i need to do to get baptized?" It was an inspired question! We told him what we could do and we will be putting a baptismal date with him this week.
One thing my companion and i are doing in this area is doing a lot of Family Home Evenings. Because the people in my area reject us a lot!
And in this way we will building good relationships with the members and we will be recieving lots of references with the friends they invite! Also the investigators will have already known members when they come to church. Also im planning on teaching classes in english to see how that works out!
This week ive been reading "Teachings of President Gordon B. Hinckley" I know i was young when he was a prophet but this guy was awesome! This book has been helping me to feel more confident and motivated to keep doing the lords work!!
Anyways love you guys!!!"
"This is why my area is called "arquitos" - this aqueduct runs throughout my whole area"
Some from Dad's email: "My week was fantastic!! My new area is super cool and it really is huge!!! My new comp is pretty cool, needs more energy to do work but really cool! I havent tried any new restraunts but we have some of the top spots in chihuahua! We have this one place that sells foot tall hamburgers its a lot like the place we went to with shane in portland. I think it starts with a "t" but i dont remember. I want to try the food there!"

Some from Mom's email: "My week was really good!! Lol the big city is going well!! But im in a super small ward....... So theres still a lot of work to be done. I came here expecting to see a huge ward. We are 30 active members and theres 600 inactives.... Yup just like in Parral! Woohoo!! More work!! hahaha! My new comp is pretty cool!! We get along pretty well no problems so far. I havent tried any restraunts but we have a lot of cool restraunts here. We have the best rice ball restraunt but i dont like those hahaha. I will definately be looking out for cool places to try though. The longest ive had to walk so far is 1 hr hahaha but theres places even further! We dont use a lot of our area. Our area is super rich!! And like half of the area we cover is private communties. We have to use the city bus sometimes most of the time we just walk and contact on the way between appts."
