WEEKLY UPDATE #69

"Hey everyone, This week went very well. Something I liked about last week was that we had a contact activity in our zone. They came to our area to help us a bit. In that activity my comp and I were guided to a house. We decided to go as far as possible, and when we were contacting, a scary man greeted us "Hey Elders" while we were knocking on his neighbor's door. It seemed weird to us that he said Elders. We thought he might have received missionaries before. For that reason we knocked on his door to see whats up, we were nervous, we did not know what to say. The guy came out and he was very very kind. He was interested in the Book of Mormon my partner had in his hand, and asked if we could loan him the book to study. He told us that he had heard of the Book of Mormon, and that we are Elders, but he has never received the missionaries before. He told us that his father was baptized 50 years ago, but he went inactive 50 years ago too, so we met his father. When his father saw his son with the Book of Mormon in his hand, he said in an old man's voice with great wisdom "Read the book its true." We went to visit them yesterday, and he had already read the whole introduction. He liked it very much and he learns very fast, he even knows who the Nephites, the Lamanites, and the Jaredites are. He knows that Mormon was Moroni's father, and that Moroni was the one who hid and then appeared to Joseph Smith guiding him to the cumorah hill. I do not know if he's a chosen one yet, but I know we have a purpose to be visiting him. We arrived just when they needed us. They explained to us that they are angry with God because his mom died. We explain that God has a purpose and that maybe he needed her in the spirit world. They were silent for a while, then they told us that they'd never thought about it that way, and they were not angry anymore, they were happy. Also in the lesson the guy said "I do not know why I greeted you guys, I do not say hello to anyone, it came out" and we also told him that he scared us but we talked to him anyway. Because of that now we understand that we were inspired on Friday. In the lesson we talked about restoration and hes understanding everything. We left Alma 32 to read and I'm sure he's already read it.
